Ms. Kallie Lapp » Welcome

Hello! Welcome to our class page!
This is my fifth year teaching at Summit Academy and I absolutely love my job! Teaching children is my passion in life. I graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies emphasizing in Early Childhood Education. I went on to get my K-6 teaching license and K-6 reading endorsement.
My favorite subjects to teach are art and reading. There is nothing better than seeing a struggling reader fall in love with reading and have those "aha" moments. I also love building classroom community. Watching my students connect, form friendships, care for and protect one another is one of the most rewarding things to see. By the end of the year we feel like a tight knit family- I love it!
When I am not teaching you can find me spending time with my family, playing with my puppies, biking, hiking, or camping. I love our beautiful mountains and cannot imagine living in a state without them! I am looking forward to a wonderful year! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I truly value parent-teacher communication! (

Addition Timed Tests

In October we started our timed tests. Your child has 1 minute and 30 seconds to complete each test (consisting of 20 problems each). Once they pass +1 they will move up to +2, +3,+4, etc. Please help them practice at home as knowing these math facts automatically will greatly increase their success in math! Let me know if you have any questions.
