White Ribbon Week - April 8th-12th

Next week is White Ribbon Week at our school. This is a week where we focus on empowering students to make safe choices in media and technology. We are in need of parent volunteers to help and engage the students with some simple, fun, and positive lunch activities to help reinforce the daily themes. Thank you for your help! See the SignUpGenius to volunteer:

Helping children learn to control their media behaviors is a vital skill in the world we live today. You can help at home too! Every parent is qualified and should feel empowered to set limits and converse with your child about media. But, are you a trusted adult? It's important that our children feel that we are. We have attached a few tools that can help you initiate conversation, get ideas for your family, and see what they'll be learning throughout the week.

Literacy Night - Wednesday, January 30th

Literacy Night correction & update: due to parent input, the timeframe for literacy night was changed to end earlier as noted below.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 30th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Please encourage your children to dress up like a character from their favorite book.

For those of you who have never attended a Literacy Night with us before you should come check it out this year. We will have a Book Walk where the kids can win a free book, games for the whole family to play, writing activities, our famous "Grandma Gertie" reading to the kids, word hunts, photo booth, and more! There will also be pizza to buy, so you can feed your family and then have a fun time together. You can get an extra-large piece of pizza and water bottle for only $2. We will also have some fun characters to meet and an author coming to speak!

We do still need help before, during and after Literacy Night. Helping with Literacy Night is a great way to earn Free Dress Day. We are continuing to work toward a free dress day with volunteer hours.

Please see the below sign up genius for Literacy night volunteers.

We will also need to have a count of families that will be joining us for pizza. Please sign up on the link below:
